Braccia Banter - can't afford a siren

Would you believe it. West Midlands Police are being forced to drive to emergencies without sirens dues to cash cuts (Stourbridge Chronicle, 10/9/15). 109 Vauxhall Corsa police cars have blue lights but no sirens. Officers are ordered to drive at 'patrol speed' and obey the rules of the road. Problem is, the absence of a siren means they cannot get traffic to move out of the way.

Is it me? Even worse, the jobs of up to 2500 police officers and staff are due to go by 2019.
