Very sad to hear the news about Henning Mankell, who passed away in his sleep on Monday morning, 5th October.
His books sold more than fifty million copies and translated into forty languages.
I particularly loved his Wallander series, and I was surprised to find (on the very morning he passed away) a new Wallander story, 'An Event in Autumn' at my local library. I saw it on the 'specials' shelf as I walked in. I've got 3 books on the go at the moment, but one more won't hurt. I thought I had read all 10 Wallander books, but apparently this 'novella' is a previously unpublished story that he agreed to release (after translation into English) last year.
We are going to miss Henning.
